Summary
- Onboarding walks through your details, any property, non-investment income (state pension, DB pensions, employment income), accounts and portfolios, spending, and any life events, before a final review.
- It takes about five minutes solo, or 10-15 minutes for a couple with multiple accounts.
- Every answer can be edited later from the dashboard's Update Plan tab.
What the onboarding wizard covers
When you sign up for Scenarios, you'll be guided through a short onboarding wizard, step by step:
- Your details — date of birth and target retirement age (for both people, if you're planning as a couple).
- Property — any property you own, including mortgage details if applicable. Skip this step if you don't own property.
- Non-investment income — state pension, DB (final salary) pensions, employment income, or other guaranteed income.
- Accounts & portfolios — your pension, ISA, and other account balances, contributions, and how each is invested.
- Spending — your expected annual spending in retirement, in today's money, after tax.
- Life events — any one-off or recurring costs or windfalls you want to model (a house deposit for a child, an inheritance, and so on). Skip this step if you don't have any to add.
- Review — a final check before your plan is created.
The wizard takes around five minutes for a single person. A couple with multiple accounts might take 10-15 minutes. Don't worry about getting everything perfect first time — you can edit all your details from the dashboard's Update Plan tab afterwards.
